But I’m urging you to consider whiskey. It has seen a resurgence in popularity recently and, believe it or not, summer is a great time to enjoy this versatile spirit. Nothing is simpler and more satisfying than a good whiskey served on the rocks. But it works really well in cocktails lightened and brightened for summer.
Whiskey Pairs Well with Barbecue Favorites
What I like most about whiskey cocktails is that I feel they can stand up to to the stronger summer food flavors. When I’m serving massive burgers or juicy grilled ribeyes, serving a light cocktail throws off the balance. But a whiskey cocktail has enough flavor to pair with barbecue favorites.
