A Worthwhile Detour in the Poconos

Open up your monthly calendars for April, May, and June. Have a few bridal showers and graduation parties to attend? If so, and you’re heading to Northeast Pennsylvania to ski Camelback one last time or you’re attempting to win your next car payment in the casinos at Mt. Airy or Pocono Downs, consider a slight detour to stock up on kitchen staples any bride or college grad would be happy to receive.

It doesn’t matter what you serve because these rainbow-hued plates are guaranteed to make your guests smile.

The Holley Ross Pottery Factory Showroom advertises savings of up to 70% on all types of dinnerware, glassware, and decorative items. Located in LaAnna, it’s a scenic 20-minute drive from Exit 17 off westbound I-84.

Score! This crock will eventually hold my kitchen utensils but, for now, these tulips have found a very nice home indeed.

At first glance the place resembles a repository for Grandma’s tchotchkes, but keep looking. They have a dazzling selection of Fiesta Ware that would look terrific on open shelving in a starter apartment, vacation home, or empty nest. And who doesn’t need at least one shower or housewarming gift? I scored a 1-gallon Burley crock for $11.99 that retails for over $35. Fill it with an assortment of spatulas, spoons, and whisks. It will be appreciated for years to come.
